'Facets of the Clothing Industry of Sri Lanka'

Dr. Rohan Kuruppu, recently conferred with the National Honours “Sri Lanka Thilaka” for his meritorious contribution to the textile industry in Sri Lanka took another step by launching the book ‘Facets of the Clothing Industry in Sri Lanka’.

At a ceremony held at BCCT on the 2nd of February 2006, Dr Kuruppu handed over the first copy of the book to the chief guest Mr. M.H.Omar. Dr.Dayalal Abeysekera, Professor of Sociology of Sri Jayawardenapura University and Director of University Grants Commission also graced the occasion as the guest of honour.

The book consists of a collection of articles and presentation over two decades by Dr Kurruppu. The collection containing various subjects such as Fabrics, Globalization, Productivity and quality will no doubt be very useful to many, particularly to those students who are studying clothing technology at academic level and those who are conducting research.
