Brandix rewards superior performance at Gala Event
HR Awards - key feature at 'Brandix Nite'
 
HR Awards for outstanding contributions towards overall Company performance and the displaying of team spirit and entrepreneurial skills took pride of place at the inaugural ‘Brandix Nite’ held at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Hall recently. The SLEC Hall, transformed to a grand Oscar style set, hosted over 1350 executives of the group.
“Creating a culture of reward and recognition is a key component of our journey to make Brandix a “Great Place to Work®”. We have just completed the first year of the Quota Free Era and we are experiencing the market becoming harsher by the day. These initiatives aim to tailor the culture of our company to grow in this environment” said CEO Brandix Lanka, Ashroff Omar. “The company values – integrity, teamwork, customer service, ownership and commitment and learning and development will facilitate this change to ensure Brandix becomes the ‘Best in Class’ and ultimately continues to delight our customers” said Mr Omar adding “ to realize our vision – to be THE inspired solution for branded clothing, we have to consciously maximize our potential”.
A total of 32 awards were given out at this gala event which included 15 in the category of ‘Master Blasters’ – in recognition of teamwork resulting in high contribution towards the key drivers of business performance with special encouragement for cross functional teams. Five winners emerged as ‘Young Leaders’, high performing, energetic young associates showing high potential to emerge as future leaders of the organization. The twelve recipients of the ‘VIVA’ awards [Values In Visible Action] were recognized for not only consistently uphold and demonstrate group values but also institutionalize and reinforce the importance of these values.
Annually, Brandix invests significantly on HR development and initiatives, and this investment is reflected in the Company’s performance. In the recent years, Brandix were adjudged the Most Outstanding Exporter of the Year, swept the boards at the Kaizan and 5S awards and amongst the winners of Community Leader Awards and Best Corporate Citizen Awards clearly reinforcing their position as the single largest exporter of the country.
Also felicitated at the ‘Brandix Nite’ was Dr Rohana Kuruppu / Managing Director Brandix College of Clothing Technology by Founder Chairman Mr M. H. Omar and Present Chairman Mr Ken Balendra for his achievements. Recently Dr Kuruppu was awarded the prestigious Sri Lanka Thilake National Honours for his meritorious contribution to the country as well as conferred a Doctorate in Technology (Honoris Causa) from the Open University of Sri Lanka.
