Dear Business Partner,
As the magnitude of this global disaster continues
to unfold with the Tsunamis affecting over two thirds of coastal
areas ranging from the far north of the island all the way
round to the eastern, southern and western coasts of Sri Lanka
and the death toll, which presently stands at 27,000 expecting
to rise further, over 2.5 million are estimated to have been
displaced by the flooding that took place in the aftermath
of the tidal waves.
Our primary focus to ensure the needs of those employees of
Brandix affected by the crisis is met promptly and that all
required assistance is dispatched without delay with the assistance
of a 24-hour helpline for any employee requiring assistance
has ensured their return to safety.
The Government, Non-Governmental Organizations and the Private
Sector have joined the relief effort, but assistance is still
required in the form of shelter, drinking water, food and
clothing etc. We at Brandix have a social responsibility to
make a concerted drive to join the relief effort and have
already provided temporary shelter in the form of one thousand
tents to house some of the displaced and where possible providing
drinking water for the needy. All manner of other immediate
assistance is also being provided including medicine, clothing
and assistance in rescue, relocation and clearing debris.
At this stage, we feel that it is also appropriate to extend
an invitation to our valued business partners who may wish
to support the cause in any from, be it cash, kind or simply
moral support. For those who wish to contribute in cash they
