Brandix to support EDEX 2008 as Platinum Sponsor

Sri Lanka’s largest apparel exporter Brandix, which employs
more than 22,000 people, has come forward to support EDEX 2008,
billed to be the country’s largest ever higher education
and careers exhibition, as the event’s Platinum Sponsor.
Scheduled to take place at the BMICH Colombo from 18th to
20th January and Queens Hotel Kandy on 22nd and 23rd January
2008, the fifth edition of this annual event expects participation
by more than 130 exhibitors and visitor numbers to top 100,000,
according to its organisers, the Royal College Union.
Commenting on the decision of the Brandix Group to support
this initiative, Brandix’s Chief Peoples Officer Nigel
Forbes said: “EDEX gives Brandix the opportunity to
showcase the depth of the apparel industry as well as the
Group and the diverse career options available. It also gives
us a platform to present opportunities for vocational and
professional growth and development within our organisation.”
He disclosed that Brandix, a vertically-integrated end-to-end
solutions provider to global fashion superbrands, has major
plans for expansion and growth within the country and the
region, as it aspires to be a US$ 500 million organisation
by 2010. As it ramps up to achieve its growth objectives,
the organisation will require many more talented individuals
to fuel this growth.

to achieve this we will require diverse skill sets ranging
from design and innovation to sophisticated IT support specialists
and business strategists.” Mr. Forbes explained.
