Quenby Lanka
Enhances Fabric Print Techniques
Brandix Lanka subsidiary Quenby Lanka Prints (Pvt.) Ltd
provides rotary screen and digital printing facilities for
both woven and knitted fabric. It is renowned in the textile
and apparel industry for its impressive seven-day turnaround
time from the initial design sketch through to the finished
sample. Catering to Brandix Textiles, Ocean Lanka, Textured
Jersey and Hayleys MGT, its end Customers include high fashion
brands including Victoria’s Secret, M&S, Gap, Nike,
and NEXT.
Enhancing its services in line with customer demand it recently
invested Rs. 24 Million in two state-of-the art machines;
a Digital Acid Printer from Stork Digital Imaging B.V. of
Netherlands and a Luscher Jet Screen Engraving System from
Switzerland.

The specialty of Stork Sapphire Textile Printer is Silk and
Nylon fabric printing. Accordingly, various textile printing
inks can be used including Acid dye ink, which is suitable
for wool, silk and other animal fibers and nylon, and Reactive
dye ink which is suitable for wool and silk in addition to
cotton, rayon and viscose. Fabric with a width of 1620mm-1650mm
and thickness of up to 7mm can be accommodated.
Customer demand for speed and design flexibility is facilitated
via instant sampling, settings for two-way multi printing
and a high-speed interface. A centering mechanism, consistent
color re-production from print to print, unlimited color prints
with high color brilliancy with no production set-up costs
(screen charges) are its quality and cost advantages.
The second investment, the Luscher Jet Screen Engraving System
is an expert solution for geometric and critical designs.
It adopts a ‘hot melt wax’ processing technology.
Coated screens of 3500mm with standard photo emulsion and
image is transferred by means of a wax jet system using opaque
wax, and the screen is ready for use in the rotary printer.
As a one step process, any design image may be transferred
directly using the Computer Aided Design (CAD) on to the screen;
avoiding the film plotting process. With a resolution of 700
dpi the jet screen can produce high quality pattern designs
at repeat accuracy of 0.02mm, which results in superior quality
and precision.
A joint venture between Brandix Lanka and Brandot International
(USA), Brandix is Sri Lanka’s largest apparel manufacture
and exporter on record. Quenby Lanka plays a key role in the
Textile manufacturing chain by linking the fabric mill and
the garment manufacturer. Accordingly, Quenby’s augmented
service portfolio enables it to provide ‘fashion forward’
solutions inline with its parent Company’s vision of
‘being The Inspired Solution for Branded Clothing’.
