The Brandix promise of Inspired Solutions requires a robust supply chain network – comprising of apparel and non-apparel suppliers, contractors, traders, resellers and service providers from across the globe – that will consistently deliver the right quality, from the right source, at the right time, in the right quantity, and at the right price.
Suppliers and business partners are chosen on their ability to meet Brandix’s high standards in operational excellence, cost-effectiveness, legal compliance and ethical conduct. Our Supply Chain Function is responsible for the evaluation and selection of suitable service providers. To achieve this, the team uses the ‘Five Basic Vendor Rights’ – Right Quality, Right Price, Right Source, Right Time, Right Quantity. Part of this quarterly process also involves individual suppliers completing a self-assessment questionnaire; this sheds a light on how said supplier approach and manage their impact on human rights – including labour rights, the environment, and anti-corruption principles.
This process enables Brandix to continuously work with businesses partners whose ethical framework overlaps with ours.
It is in our interest to support our suppliers’ upward trajectory; it is essential, therefore, that we understand how changes in their marketplace impacts our operations while, simultaneously, ensuring that the suppliers keep pace with the distinct needs of the Brandix Group. In order to do this, Brandix offers support through detailed training programmes that are designed to give them the required exposure and insight into the social and environmental impacts of doing business.
While Brandix's suppliers are chosen via a rigorous set of standards, the company also goes out of its way to recognize partners who've exceeded the high expectations placed on them. This recognition comes in the form of the annual Brandix Vendor Summit. Titled 'Beyond the Limits', the Vendor Summit brought together 150 supply chain partners, including 30 participants from outside Sri Lanka.
Ashroff Omar, delivering the keynote address, said: 'continued growth would be possible by re-engineering vendor cost structures, focusing on 'Trend-right Fashion', reducing concept-to-store lead times, flexibility on speed and pricing, and an unrelenting commitment to on-time delivery (OTD) and quality.' He also added that working with Brandix meant that partners too had to readjust their focus on sustainability initiatives.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to the nine top vendor partners of Brandix. The award categories were Best Support Product Partner, Best Apparel Service Provider, Most Innovative Partner - Accessories, Most Innovative Partner - Textile, Best Emerging Partner - Accessories, Best Emerging Partner - Textile, Most Flexible Partner, Vendor of the Year - Textile and Vendor of the Year - Accessories.
